Rooted in the power of community, Conjured Commons is a monthly takeover of space, sound, and story — spotlighting artists, musicians, and makers without gatekeeping, gallery fees, or pretense. We believe in no-commission spaces. We believe in creative collisions. We believe the Durham Central Park District is yet another reason to love Durham. We welcome all. Come gather. Come witness. Come belong.

  • Launching every third Friday (starting up again in March 2026) and beginning in Durham’s creative living room, the Durham Food Hall, each event conjures a new experience, new voices, and a new vision of what art can be.

  • Conjured Commons is a partnership between Clayton Cook and Wendy Hower. We are co-curators, co-installers, co-producers, co-instigators!

  • We are proud to support Durham Central Park, a city greenspace in downtown Durham. Our events help to support the DCP Greenprint, a 10-year plan to develop, improve and further this greenspace as an even more accessible, inclusive and dynamic space for the entire community. Learn more.
